Red-crowned Parrot: Medium parrot, dark-scaled, green upperparts and pale green underparts. Bright red forehead, crown, lores. Sides of neck are violet blue. First five outer secondaries are red with violet blue tips; primaries are black and slightly tinged with dark blue on tips. Yellow-pink bill.

Black-hooded Parakeet: Medium parakeet, green overall, black head, chin, yellow eye-ring. Blue wash on throat and breast, deep blue outer webs on flight feathers and tips of tail feathers. Flight, tail feathers are gray underneath. Cheeks and underwing linings are pale yellow-green. Rump is yellow.

Dusky-headed Parakeet: Medium-sized parakeet, mostly green with gray head, white eye-ring, and yellow-green belly. Tail is blue above and black below. Hooked bill is black, legs and feet are gray, and eyes are yellow. A sizable flock occurs in Miami Springs. Eats fruit, seeds, flowers, and insects.

Yellow-chevroned Parakeet: Medium parakeet, green overall with paler green underparts. The wings are green with yellow bar; underwing coverts are yellow-green. Buff bill. Pink-gray legs and feet. Feeds on seeds, fruit in native habitat, feral populations have adapted to take in blossoms and nectar.

White-winged Parakeet: A medium-sized parakeet, green overall with yellow-and-white wing patches, and pale, teardrop-shaped eye-ring. The green tail is long and pointed. Hooked bill varies in color from yellow-pink to olive-brown. Legs and feet are pink-gray. Swift direct flight on rapid wing beats.

Monk Parakeet: Medium parakeet, green overall, gray forehead, cheeks, lores, throat. Breast is gray, variably barred by dark edges on feathers. Pale pink bill. Belly; lower back, and rump are yellow-green. Wings are dull green with blue flight feathers. Tail is green above with central blue shafts.
