Chukar: This large, quail-like bird has orange-brown and slate-blue upperparts and breast, black and rufous barred white flanks and a white face with a sharp black eyeline. The bill and legs are pink-red. It escapes danger by running. It feeds primarily on seeds. It has a direct flight with rapid deep wing beats. The sexes are similar; the female is slightly smaller in size and lacks the spur.
