Jabiru: Huge stork, one of the largest flying birds. Plumage is entirely white, head and neck are black and featherless with a red throat pouch. Black bill is large, slightly upturned. Black legs and feet. Alternates between strong, slow wing beats and short glides. Soars on thermals and updrafts.

Japanese Quail: This small bird has white streaks on mottled gray-brown upperparts, white eyebrow, gray breast with black-gray streaks, rufous sides with white streaks, white belly, gray bill, tan legs and a short tail. The male's throat and face are rufous; female's is white with a black-gray border. Feeds on grass seeds and insects. Direct flight with rapid wing beats using short rounded wings.

Juan Fernandez Petrel: This large petrel has dark brown-gray upperparts, a black M-shaped marking across extended wings, white underparts, and black-edged underside wings. It has a white face, a black cap extends below the eye, black bill, yellow legs, black toes, and a wedge-shaped tail. Feeds on fish and squid. Flies with rapid wing beats alternated with gliding, soaring arcs. Sexes are similar.
