Kentucky Warbler: Medium, ground-dwelling warbler with bright olive-green upperparts and yellow underparts. Head has black mask and sideburns and thick yellow eyebrows. Bill is black, legs and feet are pink. Secretive, heard rather than seen. It is named for the state where it was first discovered.

Kirtland's Warbler: Rare, medium-sized warbler with black-streaked gray upperparts and yellow underparts with black streaks on sides. The face is black with a broken white eye-ring. Legs, feet, and bill are black. It is a ground nester, prefers Jack Pine stands over 80 acres in size.

Kauai Elepaio: This small monarch flycatcher has dark gray-brown to light gray crown and back, white to light gray underparts with light orange-brown wash on upper breast. Lores, eyebrows and throat are white mixed with cinnamon. White wing bars, rump, a white-tipped brown tail, black bill and dark gray legs and feet. Feeds on insects and spiders. Flight is rapid and direct. Sexes are similar.
