House Sparrow

House Sparrow

12/10/11
Washington Park - Lily Pond  (East Side)
Male
----------
Common; year around. A finch actually and another non-native bird, introduced from Europe in the mid-1800s. Not all that common in the park though, they prefer very dense shrubs/bushes which the park doesn't have a lot of. Often lost because we see them all the time is how strikingly beautiful the male plumage is.
