could someone identify this bird for me please.

I had a pair that were green/yellow in colour,  had two dark stripes on head, on throat and half way down belly had dark spotted stripes. Belly was white. More on the body appearance and size of a small nuthatch (not the colour). thin white mark circling the dark brown eye and thin sharp pointed beak. legs were white to transparent. I could see a red vein down the leg.

I have never seen these birds in these parts before. Bracebridge Ontario

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

David and Simone are on the road right now but should be back by Monday to answer this. However I can predict that its gonna be tough as there are just so many birds with these field marks. It would help if you could give some behavior information like where was the bird when you saw it, how did it fly, what sounds did it make, what was it doing, and a little more about the body and head, such as bill shape and size, etc.
