When Dord posted a picture of a yellow warbler with a caterpillar in its beak I thought of a theme that I could add to.  Lunch.  Hope to see some interesting morsels.  This is an Abert's Towhee.

Palm Warbler with what looks to be a mosquito.  I hope he sticks around and catches a few more!  Smile

This is one of those "almost" shots.  If I'd only been a bit more careful with the focus...

Anyway it's a juvi Little Blue Heron with what looks to be some kind of amphibian appetizer...

Ha ha ha!  What an awesome shot, Birdseye!  Is the Pelican after the fish or the Cormorant?  Big Smile

the cormarant sits by the pelican til he catches something, and then grabs it out of his mouth and takes off...they seem to pair up all summer long- 1 pelican and 1 cormarant, side by side.. this one, and it's mate, actually chased the cormarant around the lake for  over 5 minutes trying to get his luch back until they gave up...

Yeah, same thing happens around here with Gulls and Brown Pelicans by the piers and boat ramps, although it's not quite so organized.  Often it's multiple Pelicans and multiple Gulls in one big squabble.

Not a great picture, but we had lots of locusts last Summer, and the birds certainly knew how to make the best of the situation. ;]

And every hard-earned lunch deserves some water to go with. :P

And my favorites, of course the pictures are poor, because I was TRYING to get a picture of a spoonbill when these two started screaming at each other, and just turned and snapped off a series. Was glad I did when I got home! (They are in order, by the way!)

Yellow-rumped Warbler eating suet. He's a regular visitor.... in fact he's the only customer I've had on the suet cake so far!!

I think my favorite thing is how obvious the size difference is between the Eagle and the Osprey in your picture.  It's not a sight you see very often in the field.  Nice work!
