Birds have nictating membranes.  Every once in a while you can catch them blink and sometimes wink.  Or, they could be zombies, you decide.

Funny to catch the zombies.  When they eat, the natural reaction is to close their eyes so they don’t get poked out.  It's natural eye protection in action.  Alligators and sharks have the same response.

To verify you have Zombie birds put some small brains in your birdfeed.  If at the end of the day the brains are gone your backyard is infected.

Zombies always have a look of satisfaction after consuming protein.

These are great guys, made me look through a bunch of pics, and I have no Zombies.  So...this makes me wonder...are you attracting them (I believe Zombies follow scents...hmmm) kinda like the bird whisperer I've seen on here, OR do you guys just have a MUCH faster lens than I?  LOL  Thanks for the laughs!

These sure are fun to look at (and make fun of).  If you take enough pictures, eventually you'll catch a bird blinking aka "zombie bird."  I'm still on the "hunt" for zombies but haven't found any lately.  Keep 'em coming!
