Hello,

I'm in southeast Michigan (Livingston County) in an area with a lot of inland lakes; the cottage I'm staying at is on a lake.  This a.m. at dawn I heard the oddest cry -- it was very sharp and clear, high pitched, sounded just like someone saying "Jimmy jimmy jimmy jimmy!"  Does anyone have any idea what that could be?

Thanks!

Melissa

Yes, thank you!  it sounds very much like the first part of the recording of the Carolina Wren.  I thought the enunciation of "jimmy" was even sharper but then I was also half asleep!  :)  Thanks so much, it was driving me crazy.

As an aside there are four sandhill cranes eating spilled birdseed from my feeders right now; magnificent.

Thanks again!
