I guess your definition of fuzzy is a lot more strict than mine, Matt. To my eyes (with and without my glasses) these both look pretty darn good. Don't lower your standards, just be kind when perusing any shots I contribute ;-D

All 58 years of it. You mean they don't use that term any more? Where've I been for the last thirty years?

Don't feel bad - the fact that I know that word was used for cops means I'm in the same age group (7 yrs behind you)!

Come on...You all should know Matt's sense of humor by now. I just recently joined this forum and always look for the humor in his posts. White Egret in a snowstorm ring any bells?
OK, fuzz or no fuzz...what am I missing? Just looks like a rather odd looking Egret..... (yeah, I'm dense....)
OH!!!!!!!!!!! CHEEZ IT....IT'S THE "FUZZ"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this is fuzz, but I think fluff qualifies.

If I can't see the fuzz, is it really there???
On a more serious note, I was considering editing out the fuzz on this loon`s head because I think it spoils an otherwise great picture, but the fuzz on the head is the way the photo was captured. I might just be nitpicking, so any thoughts or opinions on whether the fuzz actually adds or takes from the picture would be appreciated.

I would just nitpick that piece of fuzz and be done with it.
It's a nice shot one way or the other. Sometimes I save the original shot, then edit out the annoyances and save the edited shot too. Unless you're entering the photo in a contest with strict rules about editing, I don't think anybody would hold it against you if you got rid of the fuzz. Forum rules forbid the overt shunning of nitpickers, if I'm not mistaken.

I agree with mj3151. Make a copy, then remove the fuzz in the copy, and you'll have both available. Gorgeous shot, by the way!
