The app is called My Bird Observations. It is an easy, fast way to track bird sightings with counts and notes. It contains a database of 10,000 birds and produces text files that load right into eBird. And it only costs $2.99 USD.

Have you checked out iBird. It's a great app that turns your iPhone/iTouch into a field guide for North American birds. I'll have to check out the one your recommend, thanks! (the one you mention is significantly cheaper than iBird).

My Bird Observations is not a field guide. It keeps track of sightings. It's not for bird identification. iBird is a real guide, I think.
