I would love to see all the various owls in North America (any anywhere else) -- how about we all share our owl shots?

No, I'm not just doing this because I love Barn Owls but I wouldn't mind seeing some of those!

Here's one my Barn Owl shots, from a live webcam (screen shot) - I have only gotten "in person" pics of babies...still waiting to find an adult.

Here's a Great Horned Owl that can't be released back into the wild and was shown to some of us a few months ago at an Audubon location.

Great idea, Curly! I have a feeling this will become a popular thread. Smile

Here's an imprinted Barred Owl at the Statesboro Raptor Center.

Let's say this thread is a tribute to "Legend of the Guardians" -- cool movie in 3D if you haven't seen it!

Here's my only sighting/decent pic of a Burrowing Owl.

Northern hawk owl - you have to see one to appreciate how beautiful it is.  Terrible lighting

No great gray - although it's not for lack of trying!  Maybe next year..How about a bad long eared.  I know we've seen much better here.

Even if it's not perfect, that's a pretty special pic. I've heard they're pretty rare.

That movie saddens me. There's only one way that an animated owl movie can survive... as a children's film that butchers the books. Have you read the series?

No, I haven't read the book(s) - I suppose if I had, I would feel the same way - a lot of movies made from books don't do the book justice.  A great example (in my opinion) is some of the Stephen King novels that are made into movies or miniseries - most of them just aren't as good as the book.

Great idea for a thread! Here's a shot of a Great-Horned Owl, (pretty bad, I know) in the chinaberry trees in my backyard.

I was told that this shot defines the word anthropomorphic.
