Just because sparrows are common does not mean they aren't interesting Here is a picture of a Field Sparrow.

Here's my little buddy the chipping sparrow who nested in one of my fir trees this past spring.  She only got 2 babies out of the deal, because a cowbird pirated 2 of her eggs, which I pitched when I found them.

Here's a Lincoln's Sparrow. This was taken a few years back, (2008) I didn't even know what this bird was when I took this photo!

Golden-Crowned Sparrow (Rock Hall, MD 12/30/10-1st state record!-not my find)

Liam, how did you get the outer edge of the sparrow light when the background is black?

Liam, how did you get the outer edge of the sparrow light when the background is black?

The background was already pretty dark, and increasing shadows in post-processing helped a lot.
