I awoke to a newborn baby egret on my front porch. By the time I could get to the phone to call animal control, there was another one. To my horror, animal control wouldnt do anything to help me because I live out of city limits and they dont handle wildlife. Arent egrets a protected species?
Shortly after 14:00pm I saw another baby egret in my yard. I called a local veterinarian who said he could help me TOMORROW but all he could tell me was to blend some dog food and feed the babies through a syringe. Im so afraid the littlest one is going to die if I dont get help soon. Anyone know who I can call to come get these beautiful animals? I have 3 now. I cant nurse them because I myself have health problems; infact, Im kind of scared to be touching them without gloved hands.
By the way, I am in North Central Texas.
