We have seen on 3 occasions over the past 2 weeks a black-headed male cardinal.  He is brightly colored, larger male (similar to blue jay) with completely black head.  We've only seen him in the morning, and he usually stays at the feeder for only a brief time.  Has anyone else seen this type of cardinal?

it could be a bald one, sometimes they get mites. so look up cardinal with mites
