Many years ago a mountain lion "marked" the South-East corner of my house. When the sun shone on that corner, I could definitely smell it. 4 years later, that scent was still there, although faintly, even after I had the house painted! In all that time, I NEVER had a deer in my garden. Raccoons were rare. Alas, that scent has finally worn off and I'm inundated with all kinds of wildlife now....

The message is: find any product with that mountain lion musk smell.

I remember reading your post after you wrote it, but didn't have any problem at that time but for a few mice.  Since than we learned we have a possum on our property; it eats the birdseed on the ground and we suspect it gets in the platform feeder as well, as every morning I have to add more homemade "suet".  We borrowed a live trap and relocated one, but had to give the trap back.  Also, we saw two foxes running down the road this weekend.  We have ducks (They are kept in during the cold) and I heard foxes can jump fences.  Do you think mountain lion urine if placed around the property can deter any or all of these things?

I thought about coyote urine, but we have coyotes in the area and I am not sure if this would attract them or not.
