I had the exact same thing happen last year. My neighbors have a holly bush that overhangs my driveway. In January a bunch of Robins stopped by for a feast, dropping lots of berries on the ground as they ate. They would get them in their bill and then toss them down with a flip of the head but sometimes they lost them, so the ground under the bush was red with berries. Then in May a flock of Cedar Waxwings discovered the remaining berries and cleaned them out. I don't think there was a single edible berry left after that. It was really nice to have such great photo ops without having to leave my property! Usually I go in search of birds, this time they came to me, sweet.
