Taken today at Hempstead Lake State Park, NY. (Surprisingly, I thought I knew what it was when I took the picture.)

It's a Yellow-breasted Chat - was this a previously reported bird? If not, report it, it's a great bird for winter!

It is going to be reported. While its a new bird for me, I did know what it was when I saw it in the bushes. I check E-bird and the sightings are very sparce here at any time of year. Thanks, Kryptos.

Wow! I haven't even seen one in summer, and you are seeing them in winter! Jealousy! (not really, congrats by the way!)

Trying to hide from the camera as usual. :) This is the bird that started it all for me...I don't usually see them until April

Awesome bird when in season. Amazing bird in winter. Nice find.
They breed at one of the places I regularly go birding. Hearing them sing and do their display flight thing they do is pretty cool. Can't wait for it to warm up!
