Thanks, Jodie. I'm really liking the new camera! I'm learning, although it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!! Smile

The "Rockstar Duck" hasn't been seen in a little over a week, according to a birder I talked to up there yesterday. It could still be around, but if the Wigeons he was hanging out with have flown the coop he probably went with them.

Thanks for pointing out the Ross' Geese. I hadn't even noticed them!! (And I call myself a Birder!! Embarrassed ) That's a lifer for me!!! I also picked up a Peregrine Falcon, another lifer!

I saw the picture, and thought "man, if there is not a signal Ross' Goose I would laugh!". I did not comment because I figured that someone else would. I really like the Great Egret.

Thanks, JimBob. After Jodie pointed out that there were Ross's Geese in the photos, I looked closer and found one Goose that has a neck band. Not sure if it is Ross's or Snow. Photo is heavily cropped... these were way out yonder at the back of the photo.

That's a Ross' Goose.

If you'll forgive my dumping in your thread for the sake of comparison:

Ross':

Snow:

The black "smile" on the Snow is really easy to spot.  And, of course, very different bodies.  Different head shapes.  Just different.  Once I saw the photos side-by-side it was really easy to pick them out.

These, of course, were both photographed in the same location as yours.

I'm torn as to whether this is really as much of an "upgrade" as I first thought it'd be.

Best shot so far of a Western Scrub Jay, even if it was through the window.

Thanks, Jodie. I like the ways the colors came through.
