Shouldn't be too hard. One of the two lifers I got today!

Location: Phinizy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta, Georgia.

Well hey, they're not so easy to find here. Especially when they're foraging down in the brambles.

Now let's see who's up to the challenge of the second bird (mtdavid, I know you know. So shush ;D)

Hey illin, if I was rounding that post number, I'd have gone to 10,000.  Anyway, the first one looks like a Song Sparrow to me.  Won't I be red in the face if incorrect?

Hey, I still need it !!  It's a seminemesis

LOL, between Liam's real-life lifelist and the internet lifelist, there is quite some discrepancy.  One thing you have to keep in mind is that he's 16 and not a working adult with a car & money to burn on birding trips......

I know I was just giving him a hard time. Starting out as young as he is, and with the knowledge and enthusiasm he has, by the time he gets my age his list will be way longer than mine for sure.

Note the reddish streaks on the breast and flanks. You still have time to redeem yourself. ;)

Couldn't have said it better myself. Smile

Couldn't find it either. Base your guesses off of behavior. It should be pretty easy.

I think you did say that yourself... almost word for word, LOL.

But as I said before I bet you will be over 1000 on your lifelist in 20 years.  I'm still keeping $10 in check for the "Send Felco&Liam to India" fund  Big Smile

Never found it in the picture, but think of a small dark bird that flits in and out of brambles.

I keep telling my son(Johnnybirder) how lucky he is, we go birding everywhere together. Truth be told though, I know I am the lucky one in many more ways then one.

Soon his list will catch mine. I keep telling him I will have to take a solo trip out West to pull ahead!!! LOL  Nah, when I go I will take him... I could not do that!!

Haha, I feel your pain!

On another note, are you (or any other young birders on here) thinking of going to the Hog Island Audubon Camp for young birders in Maine this summer? It's high on my birding to-do list, partly because of the seabird thing (storm-petrels!). Was wondering if anyone that I knew/knew of was considering it.

I'm not, but I know a few other young birders who are.

Well actually they prefer to flit within brambles. They're dark brown birds, quite small.
