This is an Important Announcement

The Whatbird Forums are about to undergo a MAJOR change.

All the forums database issues will soon be dealt with with this change. (We understand)

The Forums are about to be upgraded with a new driver program, no not another server change, this is a major upgrade to a new software forums platform.

As I understand it, all current systems, Forums, Galleries, Blogs are included in the new software platform, even an online Chat Room.

We have been attempting to initiate the new system for a couple of weeks now and it is still not quite done, but management authorized this announcement, so the timing will be soon, we think.

There will be some Beta testing to try to identify problems and fix the expected small issues before the major LAUNCH of the new system.

If this takes a bit more time than we expect, please bear with us as nothing in the computer industry happens on time or as expected.

The OOPS message is soon to be part of the past.

Right on. Hopefully it will be more of a VBulletin type forum. I really like this place, but the forum software on here now kind of stinks. It will be nice to be able to set my avatar pic. Can't wait!

Can I suggest a subforum where we can share our days sightings? Unless we are unsure of an ID, or have photos to share the only place we have to tell our birding tales is in "Birds and Birding" and it is being used as more of a general birding questions forum now.

Lets not redesign the new forum before we have the new forum.  I'm sure that there will be issues before we address new threads and structure.

WOW... Thanks Bigfoot for the Heads Up.

I know that I have been wondering about the Forums programming issues, and wondering WHEN??? the repairs are coming... It's making more sense now.

Looking forward to the new system. (With the repairs)

Thanks for the upgrade news.  If you ask me, Bigfoot, you are kicking butt (and who better to do that than "Bigfoot"?)

CaBirds... I agree, this forum is better than a 'ride' and a bit addictive.  Maybe it should be on the control substance list.

All this time I thought that Bigfoot had tinea pedis.  Glad a remedy is in the works.

That assumes that my modus might be in ulterior and indeed may not be podiatrically related.

Have a great Birding Day.

Even if they don't find one, I think it is a fun show. I kinda hope they don't. I think an effective way to find out if they are real is shoot one. If it is a person in a suit, then they are fake. And if it is some giant, brown, furry thing then they are real. Don't think anybody would do that though, because of the risk.

JimBob... once again you make me chuckle. There is no such thing as a Bigfoot or Sasquatch.

Well other then here on Whatbird!
