I've always assumed that I had only male house finches in my yard. Today however, I saw two finches close together and one looked purple-ish, while the other looked red. I have taken one picture of each. Can someone please confirm as to if these are both male house finches or purple finches. I am in Southern Indiana.

Both are House Finch's as a Purple Finch will not have the white wing bar as these two have. Also the Purple Finch will have unstreaked flanks.
