Spring officially begins next week but spring birds have already starting arriving. The first to arrive here in Snohomish Washington were Pine Siskins. Such plain little birds with a great flash of yellow. I put out two thistle socks. Today there were over 200 birds trying to find a space on the sock. Post your first birds of Spring.

Here in Georgia we've had spring-like weather for a long time.

This was in February.

I cannot really call the Western Meadowlark a spring bird, since we started seeing and hearing them at the end of January. But here is an Eastern. They arrived a couple weeks ago.

Oh that I had wings like a dove!

for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness.
