Hello,

Took a quick ride through Grassy Waters Park in Palm Beach County, FL around 5pm today.
Caught a glimpse of this hawk... when I took a few photos, it moved on. I finished the pass through the park, and much to my surprise, there it was again and CLOSER to the road this time!! Made for a much better photo op!

After reviewing the birding info, it appears to be a Red shouldered hawk to me... Is that correct?
If not, please tell me what it is, and what identifiers I overlooked that helped you make your ID.

grrrrrrrrr........

This is the first time posting to the new page/format...

I uploaded both photos to a picasa web album and tried to link to it with the info in the FAQ... but kept getting an error....

So, tried attaching the pic as a file... again... error messages "upload failed"...

I've been through the faa, rules, etc... and don't see any help with this...

Can anyone help me get my photos with this post???

Thanks!

This is the pale form found in Florida, that's why the face looks "funny" compared to the more common version (i.e. my avatar)

And to answer your other question -- how is it that I'm able to post your photos, but you are not. Your links (in between the {img}) are links to a webpage. What you want is a direct link to the photo itself .

What I did differently is that I went to the webpage in the link, then "Right-clicked" on the image. In the properties is the exact web address of the file ending in ".jpg". I simply copied that and then used the picture icon.

Hi sgmfa - you have two problems with the way you're trying to post images:

1. Your IMG tags can't have spaces in them (see image below for example of how to properly use IMG tags).
Posted Image
2. Your image isn't a direct link to the photo (you'll notice it still has all the other Google+ website stuff around it). To get the direct link in this case, just right click your photo and click 'Copy Image URL'. (That's the command in Chrome, it will be something similar in IE or Firefox). That is the link you should use in between the IMG tags. Here is what your direct link looks like.

Ooh, I'd love to know this, I don't think I've ever seen an adult, just juvies hang around my place.
