Today at a local Reservoir spotted an Osprey just after he caught a fish and was flying up from the water. The Osprey was closely followed by a Double-breasted Cormorant and two White Pelicans. It was as if the cormorant and the pelicans were chasing after the Osprey's fish. After about a minute they gave up the chase. Never have seen anything like that before. It was kind of amusing. Was wondering if anybody else has seen anything like that. Maybe the other birds were following just in case the Osprey dropped the bird. Thanks.

I've seen a Bald Eagle bully an Osprey into giving up it's fish on more than one occasion.

No doubt - you would have thought the Pelicans would have seen it!

Good stuff. I actually thought about how it sounded like a "walks into a bar" joke after I wrote the post title.

I see seagulls chasing the ospreys a lot and actually win the fish, but no other birds.. A cormornat would be odd.. would think the osprey would easily out manuever it

Thanks Creeker and Jim for sharing those Osprey stories. I can envision an Eagle bullying an osprey, but it's hard to imagine a Gull doing it. The birds I saw following the Osprey weren't harassing it in any way; just patiently following behind. Almost looked like a procession.
