I really, really like where we live. We see all manner of birds outside our windows.

Can you possibly see and ID this bird?


If you know our habitat and location, that might help. I do have a second picture where the bird is more visible, if this one is deemed too hard.

I had put this up in the old Whatbird forum, but never knew if anyone replied.

Nope, not a Mourning Dove or a Song Sparrow, though we have both here in the warmer months.

I was waiting to see if others would guess. I enjoy these find and ID the bird quizzes and finally had pictures where I felt the bird was hidden enough.

An Eastern Meadowlark


I was washing dishes when I saw the bright yellow, and ran for the camera. We don't often get them this close to the house. The few moments I was away, I thought it was gone. Nope, it popped up again. That's when I got the idea for doing a quiz here.
