I was bored, so I decided to dig through old pics from florida. I know there is a lifer in there, whether we can id it or not. What I really want to know is, can anyone see a Am. White Pelican in there? That would be a lifer... I took this on the ride back, and I had been looking for one the whole trip... I guess there was a lot of fish out there.. we just passed a big string of birds eating, and I just snapped the shots. Name as many birds as you want!

Well I think you got your American White Pelican. I see some Cormorants in the second one, but can't make out what kind. More Cormorants in the third but have the same problem. Looking through my guides, I think that they would be DCC. Looks like some terns in four. Can't make out the unknown one. The last one has Pelicans and Cormorants, and maybe a few more.

I may live in San Diego County, buy my home and heart will always be in Missouri.

I don't see anything that makes me think white pelican. Browns have a silvery look to them, and I think the one in the air just has the sun shining on him. I also see cormorants, but can't ID anything else definitively.

I agree. Your flying "guy" is a backlit tern.

Agree with not White Pelican. They are blindingly white & have black wingtips & are very obvious.

Yeah, I don't see any White Pelicans here. The circled tern makes me think Royal, but I can't tell.

Also concurring no White Pelican. They don't behave like Brown Pelicans - mostly driving bait in shallower water.
