Greater Yellowlegs???

NW Washington, Nisgually NWR, today. My guide mentions "bill long, slightly upturned, paler at base and that the Lesser's is "quite straight and all black". I sure see the description of the Greater's in this pic. Either is a lifer, so no downside for me. Thanks.

Greater for me. The pale base of the bill, length of bill, and the general bulky look of this one are easy field marks.

Slightly upturned bill favors Greater Yellowlegs over lesser.

Yeah, I often find them tricky in photos due to lack of size impression, especially if there isn't a nice side view of the bill. Jeffroscoe, this is a really good photo for showing off the bird's key features!
