Widespread cholera deaths at Tule Lake NWR

This article talks about a huge cholera outbreak at the Tule Lake NWR in NE California/ SE Oregon due to water rationing that is making the birds crowd into smaller ponds. I didn't know that birds die of cholera in these situations, but it makes sense, the water is filthy.

What is truly disappointing are the comments by readers at the end of the article. Most people just don't see the big picture and are so poorly educated that it's pathetic. Not understanding the history and role of the NWR system, and the natural history of the area are understandable, but broad sweeping generalizations and rational fallacies are not.
