Question, not a problem:
I see that there are two fields showing for people's names and sometimes they have the same name & sometimes not. I thought when the "new" site went up that it had something to do with people changing their names. But now I'm seeing some people labeled as "newbie" and some as "advanced member" (even some with few posts). Where does that data come from? Is Whatbird labeling some users? Self-description? Just wondering.

There are log on names and there is a way to change the name that appears with posts. These are user controlled.
The Newbie and Advanced member is set by the forums. I think I remember that it is controllable by the admin. Perhaps later we will make more different categories.
I don't recall there being a problem in the old forums with name changes, there were some log on problems and password reset issues that went on for a while. This was all part of the software problems that continued to get worse.
