Confirming: Carolina Wren?

Hi there, this bird was in my front yard...is it a Carolina Wren? (March, Rhode Island)

I'm not sure what you do have there, but I don't think it's a Carolina Wren. The tail looks too long for any wren, and the supercilium doesn't look long enough. Plus the coloring in the back looks more varied than a wren would be. Maybe it's a female house sparrow, but I can't say for sure.

At first glance, I thought you were right, but I enlarged the photo and agree that it's not, my reasoning is based on bill shape.

I'm getting a Song Sparrow vibe, though it's hard to be sure. I agree it's not a Carolina Wren.

My first thought was White-throated Sparrow.
ABA list: 295 Latest: Swamp Sparrow
