The sparrow and the hummingbird were seen at Half Moon Bay, CA over the last few
weeks. The two photos of the young grebe were taken at San Francisco Bay over
the last few weeks.

The grebe photos appear to be Horned Grebes, but they/it have oil all over them. If you report your birds to ebird.org, you can report them as "oiled" using the details section of the checklist for that bird. It may help track down the extent of a recent spill.

I do not see these Horned Grebes as oiled, but rather just in transition from non-breeding to breeding plummage. The Sparrow is a Song and I will leave the Hummingbird for someone more familiar with them.

I see oil on the first grebe picture. It looks to me like it got sideswiped up into its breast. The feathers look like other oiled birds I have seen before.
