Taken at Campbell Valley Regional Park near White Rock, BC on Sunday, April 8 2012.

I feel silly because it's quite common around here.

My guess, Song Sparrow because of the black/brown dot.

Welcome to Whatbird!

This is actually a Song Sparrow. They have quite variable plumages, but can often be identified by the brown-on-grey head stripes and the central breast spot.
