Taken in the Dry Tortugas (FL) on 04/06. This should be a Brown Noddy. The bill is what gives it away, but I would have thought the white wouldn't have gone so far back on the head. Black Noddy is only other choice and is less common here. I was excited about getting this one either way.

My understanding is that in the April time frame is the absolute best time to go because of the nesting aspect and the migratory birds coming through. I responded to a post by Liam earlier about this. I went now due to that. Just research before you head out. There are a few birds that are year long residents, but I think the prime time is in the spring. You can camp on the island, but it is very primitive. You will only have about 3 1/2 to 4 hours if you go on a day trip. If you go this time of year, it is absolutely not enough time. Don't know what kind of camera you have, but a very strong lens will be needed for the nesting birds. Anyhow, the experience was incredible.
