Today in Duchesne, Utah. (Northeast) I'm on Starvation Lake/Reservoirclose to the water. I only had time for two quick shots before I fell off the bar stool...I mean before he flew away. No sunshine today, hail and rain...I hope there is enough detail for a good ID.

Two pictures.

Thanks again.

I don't know, I'm not seeing western kingbird - no white outer tail feathers. Say's phoebe maybe?

Thanks, I'm seeing Say's Phoebe now also. Just wishing the sun would have been a bit more corroborative for a better picture.

I definitely see where you got Kingbird.

Here's the back view of a Western Kingbird for comparison (this wasn't a "keeper photo" but is probably good enough for this purpose...):

Here he is again. Came back for an encore....I'm seeing the white on the outer tail now and will go with Western Kingbird unless voted down.

Yes, your last photo confirms Say's Phoebe. That spot on the tail is either abberation or lighting.

I agree with Scott, Lighting. That white in the tail doesn't show in the second pic where he's flying away.
EDIT: Or in the first pic, for that matter.

That looks a LOT more like a Say's Phoebe to me now!

Boyd- that's a Say's Phoebe. You can see the darker phoebe cap. Also this bird has rusty color on the belly. Western Kingbird would have a bright yellow in that area
