Is it like or different then a regular post?
Melissa
Spam is what the computer industry calls posts that place Advertizements in forums. Spamming is like the members log in to Whatbird and try to sell the members 'Leather Bags' or Rent Apartments. There is no one thing that spam "IS" it is just not proper use of the forums for sales purposes.

By spamming, search engine reputation (inbound links) is raised. That's incredibly valuable as its, at present, the key to overall ranking behind new content.
Paying people to register accounts is remarkably inexpensive. They have scripts that find the search engines, and take care of everything but the challenge/response. The scripts are even able to make somewhat sensible posts!

Can you indicate what field marks or range information you use to identify Spam, Bigfoot? LOL
One thing that seems to be universal in the Spam department is a message that has absolutely nothing to do with birds. Also, I find the message often doesn't make any sense, and may be obviously a computer translation. Lots of clickable links on non-bird-related words also seem to go with Spam.
Keep slamming it with that big hammer of yours!!!

I remember a spammer in the old forum (before Bigfoot) who posted quite a bit. I wonder if those posts are still around. They posted on topic, but seemed off. I was always curious about the links in the signature going to seo type sites. Someone finally gave them the boot.

This whole thread seems like spam to me. I'm reporting all of these posts.
I am wondering what would happen, though, if you report one of the "spam hammer"'s posts as spam. Does it form a black hole? A tear in the space time continuum?

Does he get a half point for every person that laughs? Or just making Bigfoot laugh? If he gets extra then I laughed. . .
