So I was on the phone with my mom and heard a kaplunk on my livingroom window that sounded weird. I went to check it out and found this bird. Can anyone help me identify it? Also is there anything I can do to help it? It seems ok but wont fly away.Attached File  DSCN2675.JPG   172.21K   30 downloads

This is a Tufted Titmouse. Really glad to hear that she flew off! If this happens in the future, I'd recommend putting the bird in a quiet, safe place (like a shoebox with a towel) for a while, then put the box outside and see if the bird flies off then. If that doesn't work, try contacting a local wildlife rehabilitation center. What you don't want to do is to hold the bird for very long, or pet it - this will stress the bird out and may kill it.

I picked it up with a glove on and then put her in a box with some brownish green patterned cloth and put a grate over it so she couldn't get loose in the house and left her there for about 20 mins. When I came back she looked more energetic and when I picked up the box she flew to the grate on top so I took her outside and lifted off the grate and put her in the grass and after a few seconds she flew off.
