[Sinuous]

As of yesterday, a mourning dove has taken up residence in a nearby tree. The nest she's using is a reused one from two or three years ago. I'm so excited to finally have a mourning dove around! Haven't had one nest here in awhile.

My neighbors are lucky because they have a window view of the nest, but I don't, which really blows.
There's some starlings, too, that nested in a utility box right next to the mourning doves, but they nest there every year, so it's the norm. Mourning doves are common, but they don't nest here quite as often. Anyways, now that it's spring, any nesting birds near you?

(P.S. Once I can, I'll share some pics of the nest. I've taken a few, but they're not the best and it was raining anyways, so I wasn't able to take a great picture.)

I'm fairly certain the local Carolina Wren pair has set up shop in our recycle pile in our carport. Guess I won't be getting that to the curb any time soon.

Not spring enough for much nesting around here, yet!

I have chickadees gathering moss and 4 eggs in my bluebird house. I also have cardinals "kissing" on my feeder. Love is in the air!

Our local cardinal pair was doing that a month ago, it's been so warm here in the South!

I have a cardinal pair, that is nesting five feet from one of my windows! There is one chick and one egg. I also have two Eurasian Tree Sparrow nests, a Morning Dove nest and a I have seen a Tufted Titmouse gathering nesting material. I haven't found the nest yet.

We have house sparrows nesting in the barn!! Oh, wait, they do that all year round.

I saw baby Great-Tailed Grackles being fed yesterday, and House Sparrows making whoopie on my patio this morning. Rufous-Collared Robins and Sparrows are singing love songs but no babies in sight yet!

Just to let everyone know, the parents are taking turns on the nest. I haven't taken a good pic yet, so I can't post anything yet. Anyhow, are there any nest pictures you guys are willing to share? I'd like to see. Thanks!

Too true. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing a cardinal.

Thanks Jodie. I had a similar shot from years ago, but it was at the quality of my skill level then. It was good to get an upgrade.

A pair of Phoebes hasreturned to their nest beneath the eaves at the back of our home. They have been nesting there for several years. Also a pair of Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers has returned to their cavity in a dead (or dying) Poplar tree outside of my workshop...

Yay Denise, I hope she is successful at raising them. You can never have too many bluebirds.

We have about a dozen yellow fuzzy Canada Goose goslings and 5 adorable little American Coots with their punk rock hairdos. So cute! Are baby Coots called Cootlets, Cootlings? Can I make one up?

Where my kids do their weekly co-op we discovered an Eastern Phoebe nest today. 5 babies, and they're pretty big already, too. All I had with my was my phone, I'm tempted to go back with my camera and try to get a good shot of them.
