This is advertized for Advanced Birding and I am not advanced, but it was published last year and my Silbeys is 2002. My husband already has me on cookbook buying restriction so I am trying to be prudent with my birdbooks. Have you used this as a beginner and did you find it worth the money.

I did not use this book as a beginner, but I took a look at the first pages preview that your link allowed. Good stuff, I say. Plus, the reviews are good. Field guides are kind of like money or good looks, you can never have too much. I own about seven different field guides. Not so good in the looks or money department.

If Field Guides were Looks - I'd be a supermodel.
What - are field-guides "anti-looks"?
THAT explains EVERYTHING!

This book was given to me this November, and when I haven't gotten around to finishing it, the parts that I have read are pretty cool. I'd recommend it.
