Well, this morning I finally realized
just what those Robins were doing - you know the ones flying back and forth in front of the front window as I'm drinking my coffee. Of course, they are building a nest on top of our front porch light. Probably still in the construction stage & no eggs, but we haven't looked. After a quick discussion, we decided to let them stay (and then buy a less flat-topped light after they are finished using this one). We will probably be sorry for this . . ., but we love watching Robins and we don't use the front door a lot.

I am sure the Robins thank you. Plus, you are a great influence on others to let nature be...

I saw an Oak Titmouse nesting within a foot of some people's back sliding glass door...hope they don't want out in the backyard anytime soon!

We had a pair of robins build a nest under our pool deck last year and they are back again this year I think. I haven't seen a nest back there yet, but the male & female are regulars at the bird bath and just hanging out singing in our yardl I put out some softened raisins for them. I hope they like that!

Well, I guess the Robins decided they couldn't put up with our coming & going out the front door and have abandoned their nest. They only about half-built it and no eggs. They are still around, using the bird bath, singing, etc., so no harm done. We found the nest on the porch yesterday; don't know if wind got it or if maybe a Magpie knocked it down.

We had some Robins return I believe for about the 4th year. Looking to nest in a short lilac tree. Also, a busy area in front of our house. However, the tree is dying. So to my surprise, they entered our garage, and in a very short time built their nest on top of the garage door opener! I didn't pick up on it until I found moms eggs on the ground, under another short tree. Of course, had to remove the nest.
