Picture taken last evening just before sunset as birds were streaming into roosting area in lake (north Texas). I think this is a Glossy Ibis because of the plain colored face. Saw a White-faced earlier in the evening and its red face with white lining was very evident. Bill is more grey than brown but could be setting sun effect.

I don't think you can call it Glossy based on this photo. You'd need a look at the iris color to rule out a first-year White-faced, which would be the expected species there. The iris looks red if anything to me, which would indicate White-faced, though again I wouldn't call it from this photo.

I agree the range seems out of the ordinary but there are quite a few documented sighting of them up through north Texas. Some excellent photos not just random eBird sightings, which sometimes I question.

I was out at the Hackberry Flats Wildlife refuge (which is close to Texas and where Hopsing was ) on Sunday and saw Ibis and I have the same issue. My picture came out horrid, but there was no white on any of the flock that I could see. Shouldn't some of them have some white at this time of year?
The brochure for the Flats list white-faced, Glossy and even the Red-something Ibis as being seen there so I don't think you could use this location as a hint.
