Oriole species. I'd say Hooded Oriole, based on the amount of yellow on the breast and belly.

It's a female Oriole. Pretty sure it's an Orchard Oriole, but wait for confirmation.

Edit: Hooded looks like a better match!

Thanks for the replies! I at first thought it may be an orchard oriole female but the head didn't look right to me, too much dark color on the head. But I had no idea what it really was.

So I interpreted La as Louisiana, which I didn't think was in range for Hooded (doesn't look like it from my guide), but now I realize you may have meant Los Angeles. Could you clarify location?

Ok, so I see you are from Louisiana now so I'm assuming that's where it was taken. I'm leaning toward Orchard again based on range, but I don't have any experience differentiating females of those two species. I'd wait for more opinions.

Yes it was Louisiana. I will just keep seeing what people say it is. Thank again. I have never seen a hooded oriole and I too thought that one would not be in range here. But, who know? Thanks to all of you.

Whoops, I read that as Los Angeles. Yeah, I agree with Orchard Oriole. That explains the dark wings.
