We had our usual go round with the Flickers. A squirrel had usurped the flicker house and the flicker was not pleased.
The squirrels evicted themselves and the Flicker is now tapping away.

Our pet cockatiels like the noise and the Flicker calls.

Flickers are very cute, highly underrated bird due to their 'commonality'. They were among my favorites at the bird rehab. The babies sit and cling to your chest after you feed them. But they don't imprint. They go back with the adults in the outdoor cage before release, & they are regular wild flickers when done. Some birds are genetically more skittish of humans than other birds, these tend to be relatively more at ease than many other species.
