Shorebirds

Couple, probably, stupid question. BUT, what is it called when shorebirds fly in those flocks of twisting and turning. And is it generally just one type of bird in that dance or might others join in? I had a picture of them, and one bird looked like Find Waldo

I don't know that it has a name and it is not unlikely that there will be a mixed flock of multiple species. In my experience, in large flocks, the majority of the birds is one species.
