this was taken this am. Central Ala. I had to run to the store to get more feed to just make sure they ate lol.

Limpkin, I'm pretty sure the Lower Rio Grande Valley is in the Eastern portion of America.

Y'all in the west have Varied Thrushes.

Well we got some nice tanagers, cardinals, buntings, and many other things.Out west you got some nice tanagers, jays, and sparrows!

Lower Rio Grande valley is most certainly considered "out west".....at least for us here on the east coast! You guys in the west have western tanagers, lazuli buntings, Steller's jays, magpies, mountain and western bluebirds, and many others. Not to mention the western warblers.

All the Eastern Field Guides I have include the LRGV.

Texas is a very confusing state, but if observed carefully, all fieldmarks point to a southwest ID.

Really LRGV should be considered its own thing not really eastern or western, it just has to be in one of the two guides.

I agree, LRGV should be considered it own thing... like North Mexico!!
