coniferous passerines with loud rattling call?
Posted 21 April 2012 - 08:58 PM
Today I was in an area with tall conifers (Rhode Island) and on several of the trees,
coming from very high-up, calls like a loud 'rattle' were being emitted (it didn't
sound melodic, and from what I recall it sounded different from the trill of a Pine Warbler).
I spotted one passerine-shaped bird on a tree that I think was making one of these calls,
but it was too high up for me to see very clearly.
Any ideas as to what bird this could be? Next time I go back, I would like to
try and get a better view...
