Brooklyn NY
4/25/12

Came across this nest today, assuming it was a red-tailed hawks from the size of it. Snapped a few pictures, and realized you can just make out a bird in it once I got home. Any ideas?? It's a tough view, you can see the eye in the 3rd shot, presumably the side of the head in the first two. These are all close crops to see more 'detail'. Thanks.

Best to go stake it out for a while and see who's coming and going.

I'd say you can't rule out Red-tailed based on the photo, and size of nest looks probably good, but nothing you can say for sure. Agree with Scott, maybe you need to download "Stakeout" on your iPod and watch it while you're lookin after this one.

Yeti are white. Sasquatch would be more likely!

Thanks all, if I had the spare time, I wouldn't mind staking out the nest...it's just not always that easy.... If I find out more I'll update the thread!
