I won't begin to ID, but I do have to say that as someone who's working her way UP to be a rookie photographer, I think your pix are wonderful. And, of course, I want to know what equipment you're using and what's your "go-to" setting for such phenomonal captures (if there is such a thing). Kudos on the lifers and the photos!

Thank you very much betiam ! I use a Canon 1D Mark III with a 600MM F4 lens. My settings are usually 320-400 ISO, shutter priority trying to stay between 1200-1600 shutter speed, depending on the background distance for good depth of field I try to stay as close to F4 and try not to go past F8 if possible. I always shoot in RAW format to help with clarity in cropping prior to transitioning into a jpeg . Hope this helps and Thank you again very much for the kind words.

Thanks for the info; it's very helpful. I do need a bigger lens (Christmas!). Like you, I always shoot RAW as well. I'm traveling north this weekend and hope to get some shots of birds that don't come up this high. I'll be doing some playing with the settings, that's for sure. Thanks again!
