Warbler were everywhere this morning! I think I got my lifer Blackpoll Warbler! It was wayyy up in a tree. I think the second one is a tanager. I have Scarlet, but Summer tanager would be a lifer...

Not to question your id, but how do you tell a scarlet, from a summer? When it's molting like mine is? I want to be sure on my lifers.

Bill shape. Scarlet has a thinner, more pointed bill.
Also, I think a Scarlet would show darker wings.

I agree with Liam. It even looked different when I first saw it, But since they are two great lifers I didn't expect to get in my yard, can I get more confirmations? By the way, does anyone else get "warbler neck"? I was out in my yard for an hour looking for the Blackpoll, because I thought I had heard the call. I lost track of how many times I took a picture a warbler up in a tree and realized it was a yellow-rumped. When I took a picture of the warbler that I posted, i knew it wasn't a yellow-rumped, and then I got soo exited because the call I had been hearing was really a Blackpoll. They are very hard to locate! I hope I don't wake with a sore neck from looking up!

The color pattern is more consistent with Summer Tanager, especially the wing- should be darker in all plumages for Scarlet. Agree with Summer Tanager
