Hi;

I have a the above listed lense and there seems to be battery drain with this lense even if I am not using it. With it attached to the camera, the battery drains in approx. 4 or 5 days. Anyone aware if a problem exists with battery drain on this particular lense? I am using it on a Canon T1i. Great pictures with it with very sharp details, but the short battery life is driving me nuts. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I cannot imagine why this might occur. My 400L is my main lens, on my T2i about 90% nowadays, and I more often than not leave my camera switched on.
The 400L has no IS and so nothing electrically should be happening between the camera and lens.
Does this happen with other lenses attached?

No it does not happen with other lenses. Just that one. If I leave the switch on, in 4 days the battery is very low. Can't figure it out and Canon says they don't know of any problem with battery drain for this lense. But it is not like I take several hundred pictures with it during that lenght of time. I take about 25 to 30 pictures a day with it, nothing extraordinary.
